Dear Flawless…

I decided to write myself a love letter for 2014 so that if I ever forget to love myself I can always refer back to this promise…

I promise to be true to my heart and happiness always. I will use love to bring happiness to my friends and family. I will be the kind of love that brings peace between differences. Most importantly, I will treat everyone as if I were in a relationship with God. I love you more than anything in this world. I’m sorry for those times where I’ve doubted you. I promise to only surround myself with greatness and never settle. I will be patient and wait for the kind of love that does not leave me doubts or regrets: A love that makes me forget all my fears, makes me want to live forever in eternal bliss, the kind of love that conquers all, that makes me feel so safe its healing and never lonely. In the meantime, I promise not to limit my love for you based on my relationship status. I promise to use all the love in me to be the change I wish to see in the world. When I get older and someone asks me, “How were you able to accomplish all your dreams?” I will honestly be able to say it was all love. I promise to make decisions with care and always put you first. I will lead you to love, not by listening to my emotions but by guiding you with my mind and my spirit. I won’t allow the memories of the past to keep me from loving you. I forgive you and I know you were created from love and deserve all the love in the world. I’ve always believed that actions speak louder than words so from this moment on I will prove to you every day with my thoughts and my actions that you are loved. I will learn from my past mistakes and make better decisions in the future there is no doubt of that. Nothing compares to your beautiful eyes, your warm smile, and your contagious laughter. I won’t ever compare your beauty to another woman, as you are your own definition of beautiful. In God’s eyes you are flawless! That’s right girl…you were born that way! The one thing I will always remember is how much it hurt when I stopped loving you. I never want to make that mistake again. I want to completely immerse myself in your love without any fears…for the next year, or 20, or however many God intends. I feel aligned loving you…like this path is meant to be. I promise to continue to love you for the rest of my life in hopes that it will inspire others to do the same.

Love Always, 4-Ever & Ever + Infinity,

P.S. You don’t have to look for love…because you are love!

  1. This is beautiful and I couldn’t have written it better. It speaks to me like I’m sure it speaks to most women in relations to the struggle that is not losing yourself trying to love someone else. Especially when you are the closest person to your heart, loving yourself is healthier and its the most meaningful relationship you’ll ever have after the one you have with God. Everyone should write their own and make it their creed.
